Public Use Data File
Regulations promulgated to implement Section 1921 (45 CFR part 60) went into effect on March 1, 2010. This effectively expanded the information collected and disclosed by the National Practitioner Data Bank. As a result, the NPDB Public Use Data File now includes selected variables from reports on adverse licensing actions against all health care practitioners and health care entities and certain actions taken by peer review organizations and private accreditation organizations in addition to selected variables from medical malpractice payment, clinical privileges, professional society membership, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reports and Medicare and Medicaid exclusion actions taken by the Department of HHS Office of Inspector General.
